Proposals for the occupation and distribution in the urban territory of different uses and activities must take into consideration the effects of climate change, so that the urban structure and metabolism are fully adapted to changing climate conditions. Initiatives such as the Egoki project (ADAPT project, in Basque) project, promoted by the Navarre Network of Local Entities towards Sustainability, are beginning to emerge, in which urban planning takes into account parameters such as vulnerability to climate change on a local scale and the adoption of adaptation measures in Municipal Urban Plans.
The Navarre Network Association of Local Entities for Sustainability (NELS), with the supported of the Biodiversity Foundation and the Spanish Office for Climate Change, had carried out the EGOKI project (ADAPT project, in Basque). The purpose of thwas project was to incorporated climate change adaptation criteria into the urban planning processes of the local entities of the Autonomous Community of Navarre.
